On the basis of these answers, we can determine whether the medical supply store can test the product directly or whether one of our product specialists can carry out a non-binding and free trial of the product for you. If the test is successful, your medical supply store will then submit an application to your payer (health insurance company etc.) on your behalf to have the costs covered. You will then receive a direct response from your payer.

The assistive devices in the HomeBrace product range are needed to compensate for a disability in activities of daily living and are listed in the Assistive Devices Catalog of the National Association of Health Insurance Organizations, which means they can be prescribed by a doctor.

The sole purpose is to enable people to meet basic needs to lessen or counteract the effects of disability in their day-to-day lives. People with disabilities have a legal entitlement to assistive devices in accordance with section 47 (1) (3) of German Social Security Code, Book IX, as amended by the BTHG (Participation Act for people with disabilities) (corresponding to the former section 31 (1) (3) SGB IX) and a Federal Social Court ruling (B 3 KR 12/17 R) of March 15, 2018.

The products in the HomeBrace range do not require regular maintenance. We recommend regular cleaning and disinfection according to the instructions for use. We recommend regular cleaning and disinfection with a disinfectant and cleaning agent intended for use in hospitals. The cleaning should only be done with a wipe. Wipe all exterior surfaces and allow to dry by itself.

The products in the HomeBrace range are basically suitable for reuse. All hardware must be returned to HomeBrace before re-use in order to carry out the following actions:

• Cleaning and disinfection of equipment
• Functional test of the devices
• Software check, software update
• Visual inspection of the hardware
• Replacement of defective or worn parts if necessary
• If necessary depersonalization

Any power wheelchair that has an appropriate switch control module can be controlled with the MyEcc Control/ MyEcc Pupil.

For the use of both special control units only the movement of the eyes is necessary, no head movement is needed.

As only eye movement is required for the special control, it can be used particularly well in the case of progressive disease processes such as ALS. The integration of a sensor for tracking eye movement as a wheelchair control system is unique and the only alternative when it comes to control all wheelchair functions even in sunlight: Driving, seat adjustment, speed settings or even the operation of robotic arms.

User specifics such as nystagmus are no problem with the MyEcc Pupil. The MyEcc Pupil also offers an alternative for people with spectacles when eyegaze controls are irritated by light reflexes: MyEcc Pupil can be customized for vision correction by an optician.

The MyEcc Frame was developed for indoor and outdoor use. It is a lightweight and specially designed plastic headset equipped with a sensor. This sensor tracks the eye movement in either the left or right eye and the MyEcc Control (Pupil) transmits it to the wheelchair. So if the user looks to the left, the wheelchair moves to the left, etc., when the eyes are closed the wheelchair stops immediately. The program is started on an associated, powerful MyEcc display. This is used to calibrate the sensor and to detect and correct errors. The headset can then be used without the MyEcc display in sight for driving, thus increasing driving pleasure and safety. The MyEcc Pupil can also be used to change seat settings and operate robotic arms. The headset comes with phototropic lenses or, if necessary, can be customized for vision correction by your optician. The MyEcc Pupil is robust, cabled and can be used with any power wheelchair.

In addition to your power chair, you will need the following components:

• An Omni Display (for chairs with an R-NET system), to program various modes and switch from one mode to another, for example to change the seating or switch between slow speed, high speed, robotic arm control, and more. The wheelchair always has to be switched on and off using the Omni Display. Other wheelchair controller systems (Linx, Dynamic Controls, Curtis) are also compatible with HomeBrace components.
• The MyEcc Frame with built-in sensor captures eye movement.
• A high-powered MyEcc Display: this is where the software is installed that converts eye movements to wheelchair control commands.
• MyEcc Control (Pupil) is the wheelchair-software interface, which is necessary in order to transfer control commands to the wheelchair or to a robotic arm.

The MyEcc Control works with any eyegaze communication device. Here the software is transferred via a USB stick and appears as a program with a surface of directional arrows that must be aimed at by the user, in order to control. It is also possible to change modes using fields with the numbers 1-4.

In combination with an eye-controlled communication medium, MyEcc Control enables people with conditions such as spasticity to drive their power wheelchair safely and independently.

In addition to the power wheelchair, the following components are required:

• The Omni Display (for chairs with an R-NET system) to program different modes which can then be changed, such as changing seat settings, slow driving, fast driving, controlling a robotic arm, etc. The wheelchair must always be switched on and off via the Omni Display. Other special control basic systems (Linx, Dynamic Controls, curtiss wright) are also compatible with HomeBrace components.
• A communication device with eyegaze control.
• The control box MyEcc Control is the interface between the wheelchair and the MyEcc software and is required to transmit the control commands to the wheelchair or a robotic arm.
• Eventually the MyArm for the correct positioning of the eye control.

The following devices are included in the delivery:

• The MyEnvi environment control
• A power adapter for power connection (no battery operation)
• A USB-C cable for the connection between power supply and MyEnvi environment control
• USB microphone with cable length 2 m

• The download of the MyEnvi application or calling it in the web browser
• A device for operating the application, e.g. a MyBrace display, a mobile phone or tablet (can be run independently of the device)
• Depending on the medical condition involved and the type of operation, sensors or switches may be necessary.

All devices with an infrared interface and remote controls that send infrared signals can be controlled by the MyEnvi. ELDAT radio signals can also be used.

The following interfaces do not work: Radio signals (except ELDAT) and Bluetooth.

No, the USB ports should only be used as an input, not as a power output.

The MyStick is compatible with PCs, smartphones and tablets (iOS and Android), the QuadStick (MyStick with Gaming Upgrade) is compatible with PlayStation 3/4, Xbox (360, One, Series X/S) and the Nintendo Switch. The QuadStick is of course also compatible with smartphones and tablets (iOS and Android).

Different devices can be combined with the MyStick / QuadStick. The most common extensions are, for example, additional buttons or a joystick.

Yes - you can adjust both: the strength of the sip and puff sensors, but also the maximum range of motion of the joystick. So the MyStick / QuadStick can also be used with little head movement or soft air pressure.

Up to 32 profiles can be stored on the MyStick / QuadStick. These can of course be updated, deleted or replaced at any time.

Profiles have to be created in the Internet via "Google Spreadsheets". The created profiles are also automatically saved there and can therefore be edited and loaded from anywhere. All properties and functions can be selected there via so-called "dropdown fields" in order to be able to build up the profile step by step.

Yes, both the MyStick and the QuadStick can be connected to up to 3 devices simultaneously by default. 2 connections can be made via USB cable and the 3rd connection via Bluetooth.
